Online photo printing is the latest way to turn images from your desktop pc, laptop or digital camera onto real photo paper  . Whether you are just an occasional snapper or you require professional photo printing services there are companies out there who are able to take your order online which most of us find a much more convenient way to get our images printed . To make sure you get the highest quality of printing from your images there are a few things you need to consider.

Image resolution is the first major consideration . Uploading low resolution images to the printing company will lead to low quality prints . As a general rule if you have taken the image on a digital camera it is best not to alter the resolution that you have taken it in. Most commercial printing equipment prints at 300 dpi and most modern cameras shoot at a resolution suitable to make high quality prints at very large sizes .

Image cropping is another consideration . It is important to ensure that the print size you order is appropriate for the format that the image has been shot in otherwise you risk receiving prints with a little bit of cropping . As an example, if you have taken the image in 4:3 format you will need to order 6″x4.5″ prints – if you have taken the image in 3:2 format then 6″x4″ is the better print size. It is also very important to make sure your monitor is properly calibrated. If you are somebody who takes pride in how their images look or a professional photographer this is vital . Finally, before you make a digital photo printing order I would strongly advise you to get some test prints done at the lab of your choice before making a huge order of small prints or perhaps an order of large poster prints .
